The Quality of Work of Self–Employed Youth in Poland

Abstract
Many EU countries face problems with unemployment, especially affecting young people. That is why many policies on the European, country, and local level have been implemented to help young people find employment opportunities. On the other hand, changing the attitude to work of young people as well as their expectations cause them to search for other possibilities to achieve their desired work–life balance. The results of research aimed at analyzing the situation of self–employed youth in Europe are presented in this article. Running one’s own businesses may become a valuable alternative for young people who would like to make use of their human capital, work independently, and achieve the expected balance between work and personal life.
