The Relationship between Hardiness, Resilience, and Job Burnout among Health Workers of the Health Network of the City of Kamyaran

Abstract

Background: Burnout syndrome is the most dangerous threatening factor of workers’ health among health professionals. Hardiness as a personality trait modifies the way people deal with stress and resiliency is employed on those who are exposed to risk but would not be impaired. The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship between burnout, tenacity and resilience among health house workers in the health network of Kamyaran city. Methods: This is a cross sectional study which has been done on 90 health house workers in the city of Kamyaran. Data collection was done through questionnaires of hardiness Kobasa, Connor and Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RIS) and Occupational Burnout Maslach. Data were analyzed using SPSS 16 statistical software. Results: The data analysis showed that there is a direct relationship between the resilience and Hardiness (409 /0 =R). There is a significant inverse relationship between resilience and emotional analysis (384/0-=r) and there is a significant negative correlation between resiliency and depersonalization (372/0-r). There is also a significant inverse relationship between Hardiness and emotional analysis (342/0-=r). There is a significant inverse relationship between hardiness and depersonalization (435/0- =r). Finally, it was shown that there is no significant relationship between resilience and Hardiness with the lack of personal accomplishment (780/0=R). Conclusion: resilience and Hardiness were seen as the predictors of burnout among health workers in health network in the city of Kamyaran. Keywords: job burnout, resilience and tenacity.
