The relationship between Islamic parenting styles and elementary sixth grade students’ social-ethical intelligence at khamir county

Abstract
The present study aimed to examine the relationship between Islamic parenting styles and elementary sixth grade students’ social-ethical intelligence at Khamir County. Islamic parenting style is the independent variable and the students’ social-ethical intelligence is the dependent variable in the study. Statistical population encompassed all the elementary sixth grade students and their mothers at Khamir County. Likewise, the research sample comprised a total of 360 elementary sixth grade students alongside their mothers during 2015-2016. The sample was selected using multi-stage cluster sampling method and the research instruments included Islamic parenting style questionnaire as well as social-ethical survey, both of which enjoyed acceptable validity and reliability. The collected data was analyzed through regression analysis, indicating that Islamic parenting styles can be a good predictor of students’ social-ethical intelligence.
