The Relationship between Listening Skills and Academic Performance of Entrepreneurial Students

Abstract
This study made use of a survey questionnaire to find out the relationship between the listening skills and academic performance of entrepreneurial students. The respondents were 80 students who were officially enrolled in school year 2022-2023 in Davao de Oro State College. Using the questionnaire on the listening skills adapted from HURIER Listening tool and Pearson r correlation coefficient as the statistical tool, it was found out that students’ listening skills was rated in the outstanding level and the academic performance of the students were categorized as satisfactory level. The results also showed that there was no significant relationship between the academic performance and listening skills in receiving, understanding, remembering, evaluating and responding. There was no significant correlation found in this study, so more research is needed to ascertain whether additional elements may have an impact on students' listening abilities in general and academic performance in particular.
