Journal Title: International Journal of Social Science And Human Research - Year 2025, Vol 8, Issue 03

Abstract

This study was carried out in response to the rising levels of social media engagement and fear of missing out among emerging adults, which may influence their psychological well-being. It included 119 participants aged 18-25 from Surabaya. A quantitative method was adopted, employing multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS. The results demonstrated a connection between social media engagement, fear of missing out, and psychological well-being. Specifically, the significance value was 0.001 (p < 0.05), and the F-count was 7.655, surpassing the F-table value of 3.07. The R-square value was 0.117, indicating that these variables account for 11.7% of the variance in psychological well-being, with the remaining variance linked to other influences.
