The Religious Studies on Peace in Turkey: A Content Analysis Study

Abstract
The aim of this study is to make a content analysis the religious studies on peace in Turkey, and to determine the trends in this field by the way of this analysis.Content analysis approach is adopted as a research method in the study. Religious studies on peace (article, paper and translation) indexed in the databases of ISAM (Islamic Studies Center) and ULAKBIM (Turkish Academic Network and Information Center) and Master and PhD theses indexed at the Databases of National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education were scanned for the content analysis. While determining the studies, the concepts of "peace" and "coexistence" were separately searched in the titles and the ones related to a religious content were included to this study. NVIVO qualitative data analysis program and SPSS statistical analysis software package were applied in data analysis.By means of research findings, it will be clearly seen which themes on peace were mostly studied in Turkey, which methods were used in the studies and distribution of studies by years and so on. Thus, the research will lead the researchers about the theme and the method to eliminate the deficiencies in the field for after studies. Also the tendency of the religious studies on peace will be determined.
