The role of economic indicators in decision-making

Abstract
The article contains a critical view on the commonly used ratio analysis. It presents the basic problems related to economic indicators structure and their correct interpretation. It also includes information quality requirements that must be met by all economic indicators. The basic economic indicators disadvantages listed in the paper are: problems with values to which the value of an indicator may be compared, data sources that are the basis for the indicators calculation and manipulations that may be imposed.
