The Role of Social Capital in Organizational Innovation in R&D Departments of Manufacturing Companies in Rasht Industrial City

Abstract
In today’s dynamic business, due to the emergence of three major trends in international competition, discrete markets and changing technologies, we are seeing more and more about Innovation. The trend, given the enormous interest to scholars of business and looking at the concept of social capital as a critical factor in improving organizational performance and the creation of competitive advantage are based on innovative and has received the attention. However, few studies have examined the combination of social capital and organizational innovation. The purpose of the present study was to examine the role of social capital and its dimentions in the tendency to innovation. the Methodology was a descriptive-correlation and the population are all manufacturing companies with R&D department in industrial city of Rasht in 1392, this study covers a total of 15 companies and data collection tools were two questionnaires measuring social capital and organizational innovation, due to the limited statistical community, the questionnaire was distributed among all members of society. A total of 45 questionnaires, 40 completed questionnaires were received. Its validity with Cronbach's alpha respectively was calculated .921 and .841. And Spearman's correlation coefficient was used to examine the relationship between each of the components of social capital and organizational innovation. Our results suggest that there is a significant relationship between the structural, cognitive and relational dimentions of social capital and organizational innovation. Also there is a significant relationship between the technical, administrative and processional dimention of organizational innovation and social capital
