The role of the public service in the employment plans of the European Union member states in accordance with the European Employment Strategy.

Abstract
The article is devoted to research of the basic norms of the European Employment Strategy as well, to research of peculiarities of the policy of the EU Member States in this field. The author defined the regularities of employment policy and the specific of its implementation by individual countries, which is reflected in national employment ac- tion plans. The role of the public service in these processes has been defined.
