THE ROLE OF THE WOMEN'S PERIODIC PRESS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL WORK AMONG THE POPULATION (THE END OF THE 19TH - 30TH YEARS OF THE 20TH CENTURY)

Abstract
The article analyzes the women's press of the end of the 19th and 30th years of the twentieth century through the prism of her coverage of cultural and educational issues (education, upbringing, protection of motherhood and childhood, solving social problems). The factors that influenced the emergence and development of women's journals of a particular period, namely: political, economic, and socio-cultural, were considered. The main direction of publications was revealed, the most significant materials on this problem were analyzed. The above-mentioned publications are characterized by the following features: they carried out cultural-educational and organizational functions; shaped the image of a woman who played a role in society; violated specific, purely female issues. It was established that women's periodicals performed educational, informational and leisure functions
