The Simulative Nature of the Sociocultural Transformations in the Culturological Thought of the Second Half of the ХХth Century

Abstract

The purpose of the article. The purpose of the research is to analyse the main interpretations of the simulative nature of the sociocultural transformations in the culturological thought of the second half of the twentieth century. Meth- odology of Research. The methodology of the research is based on the interdisciplinary approach that allows us to use the scientific achievements of sociology of culture, culture, philosophy and anthropology. The research includes the fol- lowing methods: comparative (to reveal the differences between structuralist conceptions) and the method of analysis, (to highlight the impact of various features of the simulation society on culture). Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty of the study is to analyse the basic approaches to understanding the simulation and the quasi-realities of the develop- ment of society and its impact on culture. Conclusions. Thus, there were many works, devoted to the development of society in the context of the information environment, in the second half of the twentieth century. They highlight the main features of modern societies and their influence on culture and art, which are the means of reflection of such phenomena as cloning, hologram, sentimentality, corporation, and consumerism. The analysis of the works of J. Baudrillard, J. Deleuze, R. Williams, G. Deborah and Z. Bauman allows us to reveal the simulative character of the socio-cultural de- velopment of society, which includes the processes: the absorption of public by the private, the erasing of the boundary between real and hyperreal and the functioning of images in the culture of the society and their influence on art.
