Journal Title: UcoArte. Revista de Teoría e Historia del Arte - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
The English College of St. Gregory the Great was one of the seven centers belonging to the Society of Jesus that existed in Seville. It was funded in 1592 as a seminary for training priests who later would develop a missionary work in their homeland. England was already detached from the Catholic Church. The English College had a rich artistic heritage until the suppression of the Society in 1767, and its members developed an intense activity spiritual, social and educational.
