THE SYSTEM OF FORMERS OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE UKRAINIAN HISTORICAL CONDITION OF THE FIRST HALF OF THE XXth CENTURY

Abstract
Artistic approaches and methods, which are used by native story writers of the first half of the XXth century for artistic creation of the images of the mail characters: historical and fictional as well are analyzed in the article. It focuses on the fact that the ducal epoch was creatively reflected in given period only in creative works by the writers of the West Ukraine. Most of the analyzed stories are dedicated to the events and personalities of the Xth century. The research is based on the creative works by V. Birchak, K. Grynevycheva, B. Lepkiy, U. Opilskiy, I. Philipchak and others. The peculiarities of the author’s mindset in creating the characters of historical figures are emphasized. Objective of this article is to treat poetics of creation of characters of historical figures and fictional characters. Establishing orientation to description of full-fledged characters which is common for Ukrainian prose writers, and at the same time let us point out that the whole range of works of the period in question have stereotype characters not only in description of a Tartar, Turk but also a Greek, Czech, Bulgarian, Khazar that was caused by circumstances of creation of stories, on the one part, and search of domestic story writers that have just comprehended the historical facts in its entirety without sufficient source base. The story writer of this period used the whole arsenal of artistic devices available for a man of letters as a representative of the art of writing, for instance, poetical sketches that acquire psychological meaning; portrait; confessional monologues; disputational dialogues; «alien word» in the speech of a person etc.. Peculiarity of their use is determined by the individual manners of writing performed by every of the writers. This research does not exhaust the entire variety of authors’ conceptions of creation of characters of historical figures and fictional characters from historical stories of the indicated period, but only open the further perspectives for more deeper research.
