Theoretical bases of environmental management as a tool for management of environmental activities

Abstract
The article examines the essence of the concept of environmental management. Its purposes, principles, and functions are determined. The importance of its implementation at the enterprises is proved. It is determined that environmental management at the enterprise level is strategically important as it is aimed at the implementation of sustainable development, which currently is possible only with the application of new business practices, in particular, the unification of all economic entities – producers, suppliers, consumers, society and other stakeholders. The differentiation of the concepts of environmental administration and environmental management on the basis of their differences is made, and the comparative description of these concepts is compiled. The international and Ukrainian regulations of environmental management are analyzed.
