THEORETICAL BASES OF EQUITY CAPITAL FORMATION

Abstract
The theoretical content of the equity capital is considered. Its main functions as an economic category are defined. Crucial principles of equity capital formation and use are generalized. The main advantages and disadvantages of equity capital are analysed. The definitions of the categories “equity capital” and “equity capital structure” are improved. The main factors that affect the structure of equity capital are identified.
