THEORETICAL INTERPRETATIONS OF THE CONNECTION BETWEEN POLITICS AND RELIGION: MANY TRAJECTORIES OF MODERN PLURALIZATION

Abstract
The article describes some approaches to the definition of the concept of “religious pluralism” existing in scientific discourse. A number of fea- tures of theoretical approaches to the stated sub- ject are considered. Reinterpretations of the main concepts of social theories of religion are ana- lyzed, which stimulates the development of new explanatory models that take into account the peculiarities of sociocultural and political space of a particular society in relation to more global trends. The author concentrates his attention on theoretical and methodological positions of scien- tists belonging to different scientific schools and studying the features of modern religious plural- ism, its theoretical comprehension and empirical measurement.
