THREATS TO UKRAINE’S ECONOMIC SECURITY IN THE TRANSFORMATION PERIOD

Abstract
In the transformation conditions of the Ukrainian economy, the systemic economic security is one of the priority areas in the study of economic relations. The system approach is based on the principles of system theory, which is widely used in scientific literature. The need to ensure economic security and stable development of the national economy is growing at the present stage of development. The article deals with the problems of economic security threats in the transitional state of the economy. Theoretical and practical methodology for studying the economic security of the transforming economy is defined: threats and ways of their neutralizing are identified. The concept of economic security, both from the theoretical and practical point of view, is considered in the article through the stages of formation and functioning of this concept. The theoretical and methodological substantiation of economic security of the national economy is determined. The main components of economic stability for the economic mechanism are revealed. The system functioning in the context of minimizing the risks, analysing and assessing the economic security in the national economy is the subject of the article. The system of indicators for the economic security is justified. The relevant thresholds are justified and proposed for each indicator. The article forms the system of indicators to define the basic direction for the development of reproduction processes when the threats are minimized. A comparative analysis of the existing approaches for Ukrainian and foreign researchers is carried out, various aspects are analysed to determine the essence of economic security in this article. The methods of selection, justification, and use of indicators for the economic security and methods of monitoring the threats to economic security are used. On the basis of a comprehensive study of the mechanism of economic security, the evolution and the peculiarity of its application to different activity spheres are considered. A methodological evaluation of a functioning system for the national economy is formed. Directions of activity for sustainable development and functioning of the national economy are determined. Key trends of economic safety development for the national economy in Ukraine are presented. In assessing the economic security, it is advisable to carry out a comprehensive system analysis that determines the economic security of a particular direction for socio-economic development and economic security in general. This will allow take into account the real internal and external threats to economic security in various areas, develop and implement measures to forestall these threats or mitigate the negative impact if they occur.
