To the question of defining the category «economic interests»

Abstract
In the article there isa semantic analysis of the category «economic interests» was made on the basis of evolutionary, systemic and interdisciplinary approaches. Today in the scientific space a philosophical, political, legal, sociological, political, biological, ethical, psychological and, of course, economic significance of this concept has been formed. A scientific analysis of definitions of the category «economic interests», which were proposed by representatives of domestic economic thought, was done out. The content, core principles and characteristics are revealed. The term «economic interests» is connected with such categories as «needs», «motives», «incentives», «aspiration», «economic relations», «economic activity», «economic benefit». The weak points of the logic of constructing and revealing definitions of the indicated category are justified. Definitions of the concept of «economic interests», which were developed by scientists, are one-sided, concentrated on their specific line, properties, side Proposed author’s interpretation of economic interests, which reveals their essence, content and practical significance, and also takes into account these shortcomings.
