TO THE QUESTION ON IMPROVEMENT IN FREIGHT CAR AXLE-BOX

Abstract
The article contains a comparison of operating costs to the time of repair of the axle unit of the freight car. The economic effect of replacing the domestic standard axle box unit with cylindrical bearings with a pedestal unit with tapered bearings is established. The main attention is given to the methodology of determining of the operating costs for the different types of axle boxes. The main objective of the study is to predict the feasibility of an innovative project and to identify the key indicators that will guarantee the efficiency and competitiveness of a product. The issues of evaluation and analysis of investment efficiency are extremely relevant from the point of view of both theoretical studies and applied aspects of investment policy. These issues are constantly at the center of active research and development. The article analyzes the concept of the life cycle. The possibility of using the concept in terms of calculating costs for the operation of different types of axle boxes is considered. A comparative analysis of the practical application of the concept of the life cycle of axle boxes with conical and cylindrical bearings is presented.
