ТRADE OPENESS, FDI AND ECONOMIC GROWTH EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CASE OF REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA

Abstract
The role of FDI and trade in the course of globalization and economic interaction between countries is clearly significant, and the aim of this paper is to determine the causal link between Foreign Direct Investments, trade openness and economic growth in Republic of Macedonia , using quarterly time series for the time period of 2000q1 - 2016q4. In addition, time series are tested for stationarity, using the Augmented Dickey Fuller test and on the other hand, the Johansen co-integration test is used to find the co-integration range between variables, to be determine if there is a long-term relationship between FDI, trade openness and economic growth in Macedonia. In addition, in order to find causality between these variables, a Granger test for the causality is used.
