TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-TECH PRODUCTION IN UKRAINE

Abstract
The review article analyzes the state of development of domestic high-tech production in comparison with other countries. It has been proved that in Ukraine the development of the technology market and high-tech production is not sufficiently effective: domestic high technologies are created in insufficient volume; technologies acquired abroad are used primarily in the food and pharmaceutical industries; the volume of patenting of inventions, R&D costs, the share of high-tech export in the total amount are incomparably low; an insignificant percentage of innovations is being implemented mainly not in high-tech, but in traditional for Ukraine branches of a lower technological order. The main obstacle to the implemention of advanced technologies is the lack of funding.
