Tvariety of Components in Competence System of Sports Teachers: Context of Requirements in General Programmes

Abstract
The general programmes and curriculum content of education in Lithuania define that physical education and sporting activities are both equally important elements of a nation‘s culture. Such activities predispose personal growth leading to harmony of mental and physical strengths. Combination of different sport activities provokes development of such vital personal skills as communication, self- assessment, self- command; improves one‘s spiritual enduarance, teaches ethics. Sports teachers’ competences have been examined. It has been found that sport educators are qualified and well prepared for their work. They have proper professional and psychological skills. They are methodical in their work and successfully motivate students to take part in different sport activities, events, competitions so that to improve learners’ physical and mental condition.
