UKRAINE’S STRATEGIC GUIDELINES IN FINANCIAL AND CURRENCY COOPERATION WITH INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract
The article analyzes the main trends of Ukraine's cooperation with international financial institutions at the present stage and summarizes the main points of the financing of investment projects. The main aspects of cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF are studied. The basic operating and strategic areas of cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development are analyzed. The results of the analysis determined that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and European Investment Bank are the most meaningful among existing international financial institutions in financing Ukrainian projects in economy’s modernization. It was documented that credits from international financial institutions causes an increase in country’s external debt. While vast depreciations of national currency prioritizes the problem of complete repayment to international financial institutions and other foreign creditors. The basic problems that prevent Ukraine to be a full participant in the international market were highlighted. These include the problem of a steady solvency decline, balance of payments misbalances, external debt growth, dependence on foreign creditors, banking sector and investment climate worsening, low level of citizens’ purchasing power reducing, high level of inflation. It is necessary to ensure the minimization of currency debt factor for Ukraine in cooperation with IFIs. Ways to expand cooperation with international financial institutions in order to enhance the use of funds and create an attractive investment climate in Ukraine were defined. The most important should refer to development of financial and monetary security system and credit policy enhancement at the international level.
