Abstract

Hryhoriy Skovoroda is the outstanding Ukrainian baroque thinker, poet and teacher. In his religious and philosophical works the esoteric and mystical ideas and themes had developed. They formed the basis of the theory of three worlds, the conception of unequal equality and especially – the doctrine of inner (spiritual) man. That is why the adequate scientific analysis of the spiritual legacy of Skovoroda is an epistemological and methodological issue. In this context the monograph The philosophy of H.S. Skoworoda of Dmytro Chyzhevsky (Warsaw 1934) is of great importance. So the ideas of deep psychology of Carl Gustav Jung may be very useful in the interpretation of Skovoroda’s works.
