Abstract
This article talks about issues related to sexuality among the disabled. Both disability and sexuality are defined initially. A rationale is developed as to why a subject, which is considered a taboo, should be studied, written about and discussed. It also deals with ‘what problems surface when question of marriage of a person with disability is raised’? Problems and barriers in sexual functioning of main four disabilities, and disability in general are written about. Three sections: self, caretakers and society which are important to manage sexuality issues among the disabled are mentioned. In this article, help has been taken from author’s paper presented in a conference on disability and sexuality, in GMCH Chandigarh, a decade before.
