Usłonecznienie w miastach na podstawie wybranych stacji w Europie (Sunshine duration in urban areas based on selected stations in Europe)

Abstract
The study analyzed the long-term and annual variability of sunshine duration in selected European cities. The longest possible series of heliographic data available in online databases were used. The total daily and monthly sunshine duration sums from twelve European cities for the common period (1929–1991) were taken into account. The multi-annual course is presented based on the longest possible, homogeneous sunshine duration series. It was found that long-term and annual sunshine duration variability in selected European cities is very similar. It was noted that similar trends in the long-term course of annual sums occurred not only in the periods of “global dimming” and “global brightening” but also at the turn of the twentieth century and in the first half of the twentieth century. The causes of the variation of sunshine duration in the analyzed cities were found to be the circulation conditions, latitude, and anthropogenic factors.
