Abstract

Introduction: Nosocomial infections are a public health problem and they increase their incidence including social and economic sectors; in this conflict both patients and medical staff are affected; professional stress and that remain in this area, influence the procedures and could cause an increase in infections. Goal. Determine the validity, relevance and reliability of the validation instrument, identify nosocomial infections and their relation to handwashing and verify surgical handwashing in hospital staff. health, evaluate the emotional state in the post-surgical area. Materials and methods: It presents a mixed approach: Quantitative, cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive and correlational. In the field investigation, a validated instrument is used by expert judgment and Cronbach's Alpha; within which 20 are selected people with whom a pilot test is developed, the sample is selected in a random. Qualitative: research with phenomenological content, we worked with categories and respective coding, the saturation interview technique was used, select the sample with the snowball technique. Results: The Tool quantitative exhibits a validity of 90%; Relevance of 89%; 89.61% of the state of reliability with a Cronmbach's Alpha of 0.86; the staff is not complying with in an ideal way with the biosafety measures, since, within the hospital center, the 77% of individuals have presented nosocomial infections. emotional state describes stress, with instability and emotional insecurity due to tension in the area due to decisions that must be made. Conclusions: The scarce process of validation of measuring instruments interfere with the quality/validity/credibility of the work investigations, the procedures are not fully complied with due to the tension and responsibility of professionals regarding the state of their patients, the fear of failure and the suffering of relatives and patients.
