VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Abstract
Family violence is a salient problem nowadays, a serious one that affects intra-familial relations and has implications on the family health state. A quantitative research was realized by using a sociologic investigation based on questionnaire, applied to an all female sample from Resita, the purpose being the identification of the awareness level of the violence against women phenomenon inside this community. The phenomenon of domestic violence exists inside the community and an explanation would be man domination over women, phenomenon characteristic to patriarchal societies, but also influenced by poverty, the lack of money and educational lagoons. In order to prevent and fight this phenomenon more educational activities should be organized to inform people on the damaging consequences of violence actions on the human personality.
