VIRTUAL MODELING OF A NUMERICAL CONTROL MACHINE TOOL USED FOR COMPLEX MACHINING OPERATIONS
Journal Title: Journal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics - Year 2015, Vol 10, Issue 2
Abstract
This paper presents the 3D virtual model of the numerical control machine Modustar 100, in terms of machine elements. This is a CNC machine of modular construction, all components allowing the assembly in various configurations. The paper focused on the design of the subassemblies specific to the axes numerically controlled by means of CATIA v5, which contained different drive kinematic chains of different translation modules that ensures translation on X, Y and Z axis. Machine tool development for high speed and highly precise cutting demands employment of advanced simulation techniques witch it reflect on cost of total development of the machine.

SOME SURFACES OF SECOND ORDER AS EXAMPLES OF WEBER`S SURFACES
In this paper we consider some surfaces of second order as surfaces generated from focaldirectorial elements (point, line, plane). Extraction of parts of the surface according to appropriate algebraic-geometric condition...
THE STUDY OF PLANES TANGENT TO THE CYLINDRICAL SURFACES
Taking into account the practical utility of the surfaces of rotation, work proposes the study of the methods of resolution and the determination of the tangent to it, regarding the cylindrical surfaces. The planes tange...
ASPECTS REGARDING THE METHODS IN DESCRIPTIVE GEOMETRY
The paper presents some practical rules used in one of the most used method in descriptive geometry, the folding method applied for a point and a line without building the position triangle. These simple considerations c...
ART AND ENGINEERING IN METAL SCULPTURES
This paper shows how engineering and art are combined in making metal sculptures, referring to artistic creations exhibited in the “Dunărea de Jos” University campus in Galați, in the tradition existing between the Facul...
