Визначення проблем страхового ринку та шляхи їх вирішення / Insurance Market: Outlining the Problems and the Ways of their Solution

Abstract
The article deals with insurance as a component of the financial market. It has been proved that the precondition for taking insurance coverage is the property independence of economic entities and their wish to transfer the coverage of possible losses to specialized agencies. It has been revealed that today’s distrust towards insurance is due to, firstly, the lack of trust of the population and business entities in insurance companies, and secondly, the low level of capitalization of insurers, which leads to reinsurance of their parts abroad and to unjustified leakage of funds from Ukraine. The ways of developing the insurance market have been proposed, among them: improving the legal framework for further development of insurance; promoting competition and improving the organizational structure of the market; adopting the experience and features of insurance markets of developed countries; supporting insurance mediation; creating conditions for the development of the insurance market infrastructure; creating a single register of insurance agents, which will enable to minimize criminal schemes in the market; increasing the public level of insurance culture. It has been proved that the current system of social insurance creates conditions for economic protection of citizens, secures social protection and is an integral part of the state social policy. We consider that the most important need for the development of insurance activities in Ukraine is increasing the insurance culture through press conferences on insurance issues, and monthly informing the population about the features of various types of insurance through the media. The prospect of further development is formulating and monitoring the implementation of the strategy of development and promotion of the insurance market in Ukraine, which will improve its quality and ensure sustainable development of the Ukrainian economy as a whole.
