A Survey on 24 Hours Short Term Rainfall, Bandar-e Anzali

Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 8, Issue 1

Abstract

Short term rainfalls are a form of liquid precipitation that rain suddenly, and interrupt quickly too. Awareness about rainfall occurrence and its harmful impacts, significantly, will help performing developmental projects and reducing damages. The present study has performed to identify, regulate, and predict short-term rain in Anzali. The scope of this research has been the city of Bandar-e Anzali and its statistical period has been30 years to Bandar-e Anzalistation. The research results have indicated that changing the amount of rainstorm, has been done in different time intervals. As a result, on the basis of precipitation intensity in Bandar- e Anzali, the highest amount of rainfall has been in intervals of 15- minute, and its lowest amount has been in 1440 minutes. As well as evaluating rainstorm data, with different statistical distributions, to determine fundamental equations of prediction indicate that thirddegree logarithmic equations can be applied in the most cases (84 percent), because by applying obtained equations, developing a proper estimate on the amount of rainstorm in per unit of time, along with return period of plan, will be possible.
