Application of a neuro-fuzzy system for optimization of structural design

Abstract
The main goal of this paper is to develop a neuro-fuzzy system for optimization of trusses design. In evolutionary optimization for sufficiently large and/or complex problems, computational complexity is a prohibitive factor in. Therefore,we investigate the use of an intelligent fuzzy controller based on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system to increase the efficiency of fuzzy control. In this research, the PD controller easily stabilized the linear system. Then, thebased on PD performancerelated knowledge,fuzzy controller rule base was constructed. The effectiveness of the proposed approach was demonstrated by experimental validation. The broad range of problems discussed in this research will be found useful for flexible structures with multiple degree-of-freedom motionin civil, mechanical, and aerospace engineering.
