Assessment of Ecstasy use among Adolescents in Kermanshah

Abstract
Ecstasy is a category of psychotropic substance drug, in recent years its use has increased, especially among adolescents. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence and related factors with ecstasy use among adolescents. In this crosssectional study, conducted among the adolescents in Kermanshah County, were randomly selected to participate voluntarily in the study. Participants filled out a selfadministered questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 16 using logistic regression statistical tests. Participant’s age range was 15 -19 years with a mean of 22.1±16.2. The prevalence of ecstasy was 6.8% reported. Logistic regression showed, have a friend who use drug, unprotect sex, alcohol use, and methamphetamine use were influencing factor related with ecstasy use. Age of onset of drug use was 12 years. Based on the results, implementing a health prevention program for ecstasy use prevention among adolescents is recommended.
