Baseline characteristics affecting the response of anti-VEGF therapy for wet age-related macular degeneration

Journal Title: Eye Science (Yanke Xuebao) - Year 2020, Vol 35, Issue 5

Abstract

Current standard treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) is an intravitreal anti-vascular endothelia growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapy, but responses to treatment show large variability. This review summarizes genetic factors, baseline vision, treatment time, morphological characteristics shown on OCT and OCTA and other clinical baseline characteristics, which were associated with the response to the therapy, aiming to help select treatment regimen and predict the response to anti-VEGF therapy.
