BRINGING UP FEELINGS WITHIN PEDAGOGICAL HERITAGE OF K. D. USHYNSKY

Abstract

Some issues of bringing up students’ feelings within K. D.Ushynsky’s heritage are considered in the article. K. D.Ushynsky was deeply aware of Philosophy and Methods of education; he was convinced that the foundation of Pedagogy is to be both Philosophy and Psychology. When considering psychological fundamentals of Pedagogy, he paid great attention to emotional and sensuous spheres, to the development of moral and aesthetic feelings of highly spiritual personality as well as his / her intelligence, in particular. The scientist appealed to educators and teachers so that they could overcome negative features of their pupils and instill moral norms of behaviour to them alongside with the feel ol national pride, aesthetic feelings. The scientist was convinced that only education of moral feelings and sense of beauty could develop the spiritual principle in a human being by means of educating higher feelings of the young generation. The educator singled out native tongue, mother nature, small genres of folklore, fiction, poetry, folk traditions, rituals and national holidays. The best works intended for children, including proverbs, riddles, both created by folk as well as by Ushynsky and other authors, are collected in his books like “Native word” and “Children’s world”.
