CHILDREN’S IMPRESSIVENESS IN THE UkSSR: HISTORICAL AND LEGAL ASPECT

Abstract
The article identifies the main causes of the phenomenon of child homelessness and neglect. The attention is focused on the fact that this phenomenon has become social and legal and demanded active regulation at the legislative level. On the basis of archival data and statistical data, the main sources and volumes of homeless children in western regions are analyzed after their inclusion in the Ukrainian SSR. The opinion is argued that the large scale of the problem of child homelessness has led to the active rule-making activities of the Soviet governments in order to counter this phenomenon and combat it. Attention is drawn to the fact that in addition to the harsh conditions of detention of juveniles in children’s correctional facilities, they performed an important mission to socialize the personality of street children who committed criminal offenses.
