Consideration of reactivity of human, bovine and egg albumins in the dye-binding method and a standard material for determining the human serum albumin
Journal Title: Journal of Analytical Bio-Science - Year 2012, Vol 35, Issue 3
Abstract
A protein error of three sulfonephthalein pH indicators, bromophenol blue (BPB), bromocresol green (BCG) and bromocresol purple (BCP) by human, bovine and egg albumins (HSA, BSA, EGA) was investigated in order to find a reaction condition under which the reactivities of BSA and EGA coincide with that of HSA. If such a reaction condition exists, BSA and EGA can also be used as a standard material. The reactivity of BSA agreed with that of HSA in the case of BPB and BCG at a restricted pH region. However, in the case of BCP, the reactivity of BSA did not agree with that of HSA at all pH regions. The reaction condition where the reactivities of HSA and BSA become equal was affected by the pH and dye and buffer concentrations in the color reagent. As for BPB and BCG, several favorable recipes were investigates for the color reagent by which the color development of HSA and BSA was equal.

Monomeric sarcosine oxidase acts on both L- and D-substrates
The stereoselectivity of monomeric sarcosine oxidase (mSox), an enzyme used for creatinine determination, was assayed by using N-methylalanine and proline. As a result, mSox reacted to both L- and D-substrates, although...
Current status of metrological traceability and measurement uncertainty in clinical laboratories
Standardization is the most important issue in laboratory medicine. ISO has established the metrological traceability in laboratory medicine as International Standard 17511. Many countries have studied standardization pr...
Difference of inhibitory effect of α-glucosidase by tealeaves species and extraction condition and effect of black tea on postprandial blood glucose level elevation in ICR mice
Inhibitory effects in vitro of α-glucosidase within various kinds of black tea leaves were evaluated. Comparison of 24 different black tea leaves showed that the Uva is the most effective black tea for α-glucosidase inhi...
Microheterogeneity of urinary albumin
To date, various forms of urinary albumin resulting from post-translational modifications such as fragments, decreased immuno-reactivity, intermolecular links between disulfide bonds, and oxidation have been reported. Th...
