Consideration of reactivity of human, bovine and egg albumins in the dye-binding method and a standard material for determining the human serum albumin
Journal Title: Journal of Analytical Bio-Science - Year 2012, Vol 35, Issue 3
Abstract
A protein error of three sulfonephthalein pH indicators, bromophenol blue (BPB), bromocresol green (BCG) and bromocresol purple (BCP) by human, bovine and egg albumins (HSA, BSA, EGA) was investigated in order to find a reaction condition under which the reactivities of BSA and EGA coincide with that of HSA. If such a reaction condition exists, BSA and EGA can also be used as a standard material. The reactivity of BSA agreed with that of HSA in the case of BPB and BCG at a restricted pH region. However, in the case of BCP, the reactivity of BSA did not agree with that of HSA at all pH regions. The reaction condition where the reactivities of HSA and BSA become equal was affected by the pH and dye and buffer concentrations in the color reagent. As for BPB and BCG, several favorable recipes were investigates for the color reagent by which the color development of HSA and BSA was equal.

Enhancement of cytokine (IL-2, INF-γ) production in Th1 cells by crude protein extract of Equisetum arvense LINNE
We previously reported that the highest cell proliferation-inhibitory effect of a crude protein extract solution of Equisetum arvense LINNE (crude E. arvense protein) on cultured cells was noted in the group treated with...
Reaction between cationic detergent and Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250: application to urinalysis
In the qualitative test for urine protein by a test strip, a false-positive reaction due to a cationic detergent is well known. A method which can discriminate a false-positive reaction was studied, using CBB G-250 reage...
Clinical sample comparison of eight homogeneous assay kits for high density lipoprotein cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol
Homogeneous assay to measure the cholesterol associated with high- density lipoprotein (HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) are widely used in clinical laboratories all over the world. However, few reports have be...
