Cooperation of Ukraine with the International Standardization Organization

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to determine the mechanisms of cooperation between Ukraine and the International Organization for Standardization. The scientific novelty consists in improving scientific approaches to implementing the organizational and legal mechanism of Ukraine cooperation with the International Standardization Organization on the basis of a full member of the national standardization body and participation in the implementation of the Strategy ISO 2016-2020 (ISO Strategy 2016-2020). Conclusions. The global standardization system (that are: national, regional and international standardization) is the international agreement between ISO, IEC and ITU. ISO is an independent non-governmental international organization whose activities involve the national standardization bodies. Ukraine has a full membership in ISO; the national enterprise «Ukrainian Research and Training Center for Standardization, Certification and Quality» (State Enterprise «UkrNDNC») is the national standardization body. In accordance with the terms of membership in the International Organization for Standardization, cooperation mechanisms for Ukraine are involved in the development of ISO standards and development strategies, participation and voting at ISO technical and political meetings, etc., in line with the strategic plan of ISO for 2016–2020, joint activities are envisaged in the following strategic directions: «Developing high standards through ISO’s global membership», ensuring effective «stakeholder engagement», a strong foundation for «People and Organizations Development», an effective «Use of Technology» and an emphasis on «Communication» to achieve the ultimate goal of the ISO standards that are used everywhere».
