Cutaneous Manifestations in Chronic Renal Failure Patients on Hemodialysis

Abstract

Background: Cutaneous disorders are a common manifestation of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) or end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Materials and Methods: The study was conducted prospectively on 100 patients diagnosed to have CRF who were undergoing hemodialysis. The patients in this study include patients of hemodialysis unit and referrals made to DVL Department, MGM Hospital, Warangal. Results: A total of 100 cases were recruited. Detailed history was taken, and complete clinical examination was carried out. The results obtained has been depicted in tabular and graph format. Conclusion: In patients with CRF on hemodialysis; xerosis, nail changes, pruritus, and diffuse hyperpigmentation are the predominant cutaneous manifestations.
