DEVELOPMENT OF EXCHANGE TRADE IN UKRAINE: FROM THE CREATION TO THE ACTIVE BUSINESS

Abstract

Purpose. The article presents a retrospective analysis of exchange trading development in Ukraine. The preconditions of an effective exchange market formation are considered. The intensity of its growth and features of specialization are determined. Methodology. Sociological survey (interview and on-line poll), experts’ work, content analysis of the information materials. The analysis of activity of commodity exchanges at the stage of structural transformations in the Ukrainian economy is carried out. The formation of exchange trading in Ukraine is a rather complex and multidimensional process. It requires consideration of a number of factors and the peculiarities of their impact. The nature of their manifestation can be traced precisely on the basis of a retrospective analysis of exchange activities. Results. The characteristic features of exchange trading development in the regional context are determined. On the basis of cost indicators of the Exchanges, the analysis of the capacity of the exchange market of Ukraine was conducted. The commodity specialization of exchange activity in the national economy is considered. On the basis of the obtained data, the perspectivity of the existing commodity specialization in the modern conditions was investigated. Originality. The features of financial resources concentration on the Ukrainian exchange market are considered. As a result of the research, the main problem positions in the development of domestic exchange trading are outlined. Practical value. Taking into account the mentioned problems, promising directions of perfection of the national exchange market were suggested. However, the state's influence in the field of exchange trading should be clearly regulated. In our opinion, the English model of intervention in the regulation of the Exchanges should be respected. It is in keeping with the optimal correlation between the influence of the state and the actions of exchanges self-government authorities. More rigid regulation will restrict the effect of market mechanisms of self-regulation. Milder regulation will lead to uncontrolled pricing and trade development contrary to national interests.
