Development of traditional karate in Poland in years 1971–2001

Abstract
The aim of the study was to describe and systematize information on the history of the development of traditional karate in Poland. The discipline, which has grown in the world since about the 17th c., came to Poland only in 1971. It is futile to search for information about the origins of karate and the successes of our players Polish literature. Fragmentary information can be found on various websites (which do not always stand the test of time). This subject has been better discussed on the official website of the Traditional Karate Association of Poland. The paper describes what currently karate is, how it developed in Poland and the successes of our players on the international stage in the years 1971-2001.
