Does the Future Belong to the „Electric Ones”?

Journal Title: Komunikacja Publiczna - Year 2017, Vol 67, Issue 2

Abstract

The paper analyses the governmental bill of the Act on Electromobility And Alternative Fuels as well as the Plan of Electromobility Development in Poland in terms of opportunities and threats for the public transport organised by municipal local governments. The author has also followed possibilities of financial support for municipalities to purchase electrical buses. Mayors of Polish cities, quoted in the text, emphasise that only with such support they can bear the replacement of part of vehicles into electrical ones. A question is also asked, whether by the introduction of electromobility the municipalities, which have already invested in ecological vehicles, but driven by CNG, LNG, biomethane or hydrogen, would not be harmed.
