Dynamic Binding to Web Services Pre-Cached on a LAN

Abstract

Web services are being increasingly exploited in software development. Their advantages, for example, platform independence, would be enhanced if they could be bound to dynamically at run time. However, existing methods for dynamic binding have proved problematic. This paper proposes an approach based upon both continuously caching on a Local Area Network (LAN), web services selected for their relevance to an organisation and their quality of service data, and upon dynamically linking to these at run time based upon QoS criteria required by specific organisation business processes.
