Effects and Treatment of Abuse and Neglect on Children

Abstract
Violence and abuse against children has been a major problem in every period from the past to the present day. It is an important problem that needs to be studied broadly regarding the abuse and neglect of the child which obstructs the child’s healthy growth and development. Physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse are seen as forms of neglect. Abuse and neglect harm children physically, emotionally, behaviorally and psychologically. For this reason, necessary arrangements should be made in order to increase relevant work and prevent abuse. In this review article on child abuse and neglect, types, causes, effects, treatment and preventive ways of abuse are discussed.
