Journal Title: Gelişim ve Psikoloji Dergisi (GPD) - Year 2020, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
This research was carried out to examine the mediating role of life goals in the relationship between cognitive flexibility and psychological resilience in high school students. 403 high school students participated in the study. Psychological Resilience and Adolescent Development Scale (Gizir & Aydın, 2006), Cognitive Flexibility Scale (Bilgin, 2009) and Life Aims Scale for Adolescents (Eryilmaz, 2010) were used to collect research data. Descriptive statistics, correlation, structural equation model and Sobel test methods were used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the analysis, cognitive flexibility and life goals are significant predictors of psychological resilience and show that the relationship between cognitive flexibility and psychological wellness has a partial mediating role in life goals (Z = 6.06, p <.00).
