EVOLUTION OF THE UKRAINIAN NOCTURNE OF THE 19TH CENTURY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE EUROPEAN ROMANTICISM

Abstract
The peculiarities of the nocturne genre evolution in the Ukrainian piano music of the 19th century in the context of the European romanticism are characterized. The nocturnes of M. Lysenko and O. Lyzohub written at different stages of evolution are compared with the nocturnes composed by J. Field and F. Chopin. In accordance with the comparative analysis the typological general genre-stylistic traits, which testify the influence of the European romanticists on the creative work of Ukrainian composers, are considered. The distinctive features are defined that state the originality of genre interpretations. It is determined that the genre innovation is reveal in the most expressive way in the Second nocturne of M. Lysenko, which became a Ukrainian national invariant of this genre.
