Finite element modeling and analytical solution of a semi-elliptic crack’s J integral
Journal Title: Recueil de mécanique - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
In this work, we first evaluate the J-integral rupture parameter as a function of various crack parameters (crack size, rod dimensions, intensity and nature of loads) for various crack form. In a second step, and in the base of the results obtained by the finite element method, we propose formulas of the factor shape, whose implementation remains rather simple and inexpensive in terms of time, effort and means to the engineer in order to predict evolution of the rupture behavior of a cylindrical component with a semielliptical crack emerging from the surface. The comparison of the proposed analytical solution showed a good performance relatively with results of the literature.

The positions effect of biarticular muscles on the walking fatigue of bipedal robots
The objective of this paper is to model a bipedal robot with springs like biarticular muscles and to study the positions effect of biarticular muscles on the walking fatigue of bipedal robots through the analysis of the...
Predictive diagnosis of unbalance and misalignment defects Based on the FFT and DWT of the stator current of an induction motor: Experimental approaches
Because of the complexity of their modelling, mass imbalance and engine misalignment have not received much attention from researchers. Early, correct and reliable detection of these defects helps to stop the propagation...
Contribution to the study of the thermal effect – application to a tilting pad thrust bearing
This paper deals with one of the most important phenomena occurring in tilting pad thrust bearings. This is the thermal phenomenon. Indeed, the viscosity of the lubricants is very dependent on film temperature, hence th...
