FROM CHARITY TO VOLUNTEER MOVEMENT IN UKRAINE: HISTORY AND NOWADAYS

Abstract
The article analyzes charitable activities on Ukrainian lands in different historical periods. The relevance of the topicis due to the fact that after the start of the anti-terrorist operation in the east of our country in 2014, volunteering has reached its peak. Active civil position has caused us to turn to the rich historical experience of domestic charity. The study highlights the characteristics of the provision of assistance and suggests periodization of the development of charity in Ukraine from pre-Christian times to the present.
