The leading function of social networks is informational and analytical. It has been determined that social networks manifest this function through: a communicative component; component of self-presentation; component of socialization; component of a “notebook”; component of psychological discharge. It has been determined that the Internet provides not only the opportunity to develop abilities, improve the spectrum of theoretical and applied knowledge and extend the range of interests, but also includes real threats for children and youth. The acute craving for the usage of social networks is a “disease” that may occur due to personal or psychological problems, due to unrealized desires, and hidden complexes and difficulties in communication. It has been found that information in social networks is organized and managed insufficiently, which causes various kinds of conflicts. Conflict behaviour of the child in the virtual world may also be caused by destructive objective stimuli such as: impertinent behaviour; rudeness in communication via private messages and comments; criticism of all possible proposals; nonconformity to the requirements; readiness to exercise temper, sharpness, obscene statements: suspicion – distrust and caution in relation to people.
