Implementation of German experience in practice-oriented education of mayors in Ukraine

Abstract
The article considers the peculiar features of training of administrative personnel that is implemented in Ukraine within the framework of cooperation between the National Acad- emy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine and the University of Applied Management Studies in Mannheim (Federal Republic of Germany). It is determined that on the background of development of decentralization processes in Ukraine there are still unresolved questions remaining with regard to the practical training of senior executives in the issues pertaining to urban management. These issues were prioritized during the pro- fessional training of mayors at the Institute for in-Service Training for Senior Executives of the National Academy and onsite training at the University of Applied Management Studies.
